Creative Workshop

In Douglas Gast's Digital Media - Print & Web class, some of my favorite assignments were from Creative Workshop: 80 challenges to sharpen your design skills by David Sherwin. To earn extra credit, we had the option to complete more challenges. Here are a few of the ones I decided to play with.
CW 3: Time MachineSelect a print ad from before 1980 that you admire, then redesign it in a contemporary style as a full-page color ad
CW 5: I'm Drawing a BlankA paint company would like you to design a folder that will hold a revamped press kit and it must have at least 90 percent white showing in the overall design
CW 9: Tragic SansCreate a brochure cover promoting the Slow Food Movement and use five or more unique fonts
CW 12 Strange Chemistry - Create the annual report for a new breed of chemical company and mix scruffy hand-drawn type with ultra-redefined photography

CW 16: Hey, You Made That Up! - Create a new made-up word by smashing together three syllables from three adjectives and create a six-panel storyboard for a motion graphics piece
